Passepartout Finishes to Thai-Chinese Breakfast Party

by Greg Harms, July 10th, 2008

Crossing under light breezes that brought them drifting over the finish line, Passepartout finished at 07:26:07 Thursday, July 10. Several crew boasted that they could have carried on to Tahiti, but the rest quietly suggested that they were glad to arrive. Waiting for them at the dock were three beautiful grass skirted and coconut endowed greeters of questionable sex who with gravelly voices proceeded to provide Lei's, alohas and plenty of drink along with an Asian themed breakfast.

The night before a special gathering was held at Compadres Restaurant for the Crew of Something Wicked, who left their boat minus their rudder on the hard in San Francisco to come and party. Mai Tais were replaced by Margaritas and the decision of the evening was "on the rocks" or "blended" and "with or without salt."

As we write this Seeker has only moments ago crossed the finish line (give or take 18.23HST). This will likely put her in third place in front of Passepartout on corrected time. Following close on Seeker's heels, but perhaps not in time to meet the race deadline, is Red Heather and not so far behind her is Black Watch. Zulu lags another day or so behind this, but we've heard rumours that while trolling their last Tuna lure while just in front of a passing squall that would put her into a nice spinnaker run, she was faced with an "eat or sail" dilemma. They chose to cut the fishing line, but apparently, given their current larder, this was a tough decision.

Gotta go and party with Seeker...
