Phoenix Arrived in the wee hours - First Canadian Boat to Finish

At 03:17:34 HST on July 20, 2022 the race yacht Phoenix crossed the finish line near Kaanapali and became the First Canadian boat to finish. A short while later, the boat was piloted to the Lahaina Small Boat Harbor and came alongside to the wild cheers at about 4 AM of family, friends and the team of Greeters from Sea Maui. Champagne corks popped aboard Phoenix and many hugs and kisses were shared.
Royal Vancouver Yacht Club Vice Commodore Cedric Burgers was on hand to the delight of Gord Wylie and his Phoenix crew. At 10 AM, the Lahaina Yacht Club was buzzing, a fine repast was provided for the champion sailors who are thrilled to have completed the race and have so many tales of Challenge, Adventure and Teamwork to share for decades to come.

Vic-Maui Welcomes Outbreak
Outbreak is our 4th Lahaina Class entry.
Pat Fenton and his crew are excited and looking forward to the 2022 Vic-Maui aboard Outbreak. They raced together previously in the 2013 Van Isle 360 and in several Swiftsure races. However, this is the first Vic-Maui race for Outbreak and it’s crew. Pandemic permitting the plan is to book some sailing hours polishing skills and checking out the boat off Vancouver island in August this year. Team Outbreak is looking forward to the whole experience including the preparation work and training but especially a safe fun sail to Maui.
